Icon Dinosaurs

Here are a few stickers indicating ‘quite zones’ I recently saw on public transport. I thought it was ironic that the icons of the mobile phones still include antennas.

While I appreciate that the stickers may have been designed in the days when mobile phones still had antennas, which is not so long ago. What interests me is how technology, such as smartphones , will be represented in the future, when there will be less identifiable features on products than ever.

Think back to the old symbol of a phone, what might this be for an iPhone ? How long will it take for the symbolism take to change, if it ever will? Will the phone suffer the same fate as the motorway speed camera and be locked in permanent antiquity?
